Lewis and Clark’s Journal to the Rocky Mountains is a later (illustrated) edition of the first published version of the adventures and experiences from the Lewis and Clark Expedition led by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The journal kept by Patrick Gass was edited and corrected by David McKeehan, a schoolteacher and bookstore owner who befriended Gass after the Expedition ended. It was first published in 1807 and republished several times. The remaining journals kept during the Expedition by other members was eventually published in edited versions and varying formats by select editors and scholars.
